Writing Your Own Ebook - The Basics

December 10, 2007

by Jo Mark

In this era of fast food, music downloads, and online shopping, people want stuff and they want it now. Everyone is in a hurry. In this get-it-now culture, ebooks have become a very hot commodity. They sell extremely well in this environment. They have not yet overtaken traditional book sales, but that time may come.
Writing an ebook has become a very popular (and profitable) thing to do. All you need to get started is a computer with a word processor and spelling checker. You do not have to be a great writer. In fact, there are a number of methods to get other people to write your ebook for you.
Your ebook does not have to be long. I have seen a number that are no more than 15 pages and sold for as much as $47. The price you get for your ebook depends upon the information you provide and the demand that exists for that topic.
If you are planning on writing an ebook, you would do well to determine what types are selling well before you begin your project. It is unfortunate, but many people do it the other way around. They write only to find that no one is interested in the subject. In that situation, few sales occur and the ebook sits in their computer collecting digital dust. You are much better off by doing your researching first, and writing afterwards. There are many methods you can use to find out which subjects sell well. My ebook, for one, has an excellent section on how to find hot selling topics.

Why You Must have Patience When You Start Your Own Work From Home Business

by Corey Bergeron

What do you think is the difference between a successful entrepreneur and a unsuccessful entrepreneur?
I will tell one thing, it is not luck. The difference is a successful entrepreneur makes their own luck.
What I mean by that, is that if you want to make good money working from home, you need to stay focused on the task in hand. You will never make money with your online business if you don’t advertise the Bajesus out of it.
More often then not, most people have a really awesome website set up and have a killer product to sell but fail and give up because they did not promote their business enough.
Another reason why future business owners fail is because they threw more money into the marketing pot then they could afford. Expecting to see a faster turn around on their investment. If you are not careful and you jump right into the sea of opportunities, the home-based business professionals will chew you up and spit you out.
I believe the most important thing you must possess when it comes to online marketing is the proper training and the patience to let the SEO take its course.
The definition of SEO or "Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results.
Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks", the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

Why Keyword Research Is Vital For Your Website’s Growth

by Liam Schembri

In a world where a website exists for almost every niche imaginable, choosing the right keywords can be extremely difficult and confusing. As Google is constantly introducing new methods to eliminate spam websites, you must be careful not to "overstuff" your website with keywords as the search engines will likely mark it as spam and remove your website and it’s related pages from their listings altogether.
Many people underestimate the importance of keyword research. They believe that the search engine rankings are meant to be determined by the search engines themselves, but this is far from the truth. So why is keyword research vital for your website’s growth?
Keyword research is incredibly important and will determine your website’s rankings in the search engines, ultimately affecting your traffic and overall profitability. Simply put, having relevant keywords on your website will result in it ranking higher for your chosen niche, ultimately attracting targeted (and profitable) visitors. It is the single most important aspect of search engine optimization (SEO) and is what many webmasters spend the majority of their time online working on.

Why Content is King in SEO

by Rama Krishna

If you log on to the internet now and look for tips on how to improve the rankings of your website in the search engine results, you will come across hundreds of websites with one word in common, SEO.
SEO seems to be everywhere. And in most of the sites that claim to help you with SEO, you will come across one sentence, ‘content is King in SEO’.
•    Why is content so important in SEO?
•    How do you use content to get you on top of the search engine rankings?
•    Is it a daunting task?
Well, for starters it might seem like the most difficult thing to do on earth. But once you get the hang of it, it becomes far easier than the rest.
How it works
Lets say, you sell electronic consumer goods on the internet and your website has everything from televisions to cellular phones. Now, there are a lot of search terms that can land a user on your website and thereby proceed to a sale.
But unless you have a page that is optimized with that search term, the spider won’t pick up or list your website in the first place. So for each search term that relates to the stuff that you sell on your website, you need to have an optimized page.

Online advertising tapped into the tremendous potential, as blogging became more and more popular, as did the every growing audience. The outline below describes 5 reasons why doing business online by blogging, is the best Internet marketing tool today.
Blogging arrived on the Internet marketing scene in the late 90s. It originated as a way to Blogging and Internet Marketing comment on an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice their opinions. It opened the door for real-time, 2-way conversations, even highly charged debates, among bloggers and blog visitors. As it became more and more popular, online advertising tapped into the tremendous potential and ever growing audience. 1. Blogging is easy.
The simplest way to get your information, your products, and your services on the Internet is through blogging. Think of a blog as a virtual tablet of paper and you simply write your ideas, experiences, new products, and service descriptions down and if well written, the truth behind your articles will entice your readers, or blog visitors, to want to know more about you and what you have to offer. So basically, if you have a computer and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

In this day and age where advertising saturates our lives, we question the credibility of most advertising claims. However, in the , your blog content will represent a Blogging and Internet Marketingmore personal aspect of who you are and what you have to offer, establishing your credibility up-front. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. Consumers want to purchase with confidence. What Really Makes MLM Business An Opportunity A Newbie Cannot Refuse

by Derrick Teng

Multi- level marketing or MLM is still one of the most attractive businesses ever made know to human. MLM offers the opportunity to become involved in a system for distributing products or concepts to consumers.
Concepts such as offering people a way to earn money online, get rich-quick scheme and other so-called proven system to earn real money are some of examples of a MLM company that closes sales on concepts.
Unlike a person might choose to start a business from scratch and does not have the right connections or support to survive, being part of a MLM system allows a participant the support he or she ever needs in a MLM company.
As an MLM participant, you make your money by selling the MLM products to other MLM participants. Besides earning money off your own sales, you also earn a percentage of the income generated by the distributors that you’ve brought into the MLM company (your downline).
Also, there are bonuses for hitting sales target of MLM product or for signing up a certain number of new members.
However, in order to thrive in this genre of business, a participant needs to have the right skills, personality and the right networks. Because of those criteria, there are little stories of success that can be talk about.
Fortunately, there emerges a new bloodline that combines the use of internet and the way how MLM works. Due to the new merger, many ordinary people have successfully build streams of passive income.
This is the reason why many ordinary and anybody can become richer easier because of the removing of platforms of criteria. By using the internet, one need not to be eloquent or having the right connections to make it.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

by Omo Agwaye

Affiliate marketing to some people might be a very hard nut to crack. This is largely due to the fact that the concept might seem quite simple in definition but could be more complicated in its implementation. My purpose here is to present affiliate marketing is simplest terms thereby making it less difficult to comprehend.
Affiliate marketing entails finding products of merchants and getting customers to purchase those products. From that point, you earn a commission on that sale. The commissions for the affiliate products are always set by the merchant or product owners, and as a result, it is advisable for anyone thinking of entering into the affiliate marketing business to pay close attention to the commission the product owner is offering. When starting out, it is advisable to promote merchants that offer digital or information products that can be easily downloadable. This is because they pay higher commissions and best place to look for such products to promote is Clickbank. There you will get tons of digital products to promote on different topics ranging from sports to money making opportunities.
Affiliate marketing gives you the opportunity to earn truckloads of cash with minimal investments. You don’t need your own merchant account, you don’t need to pay a website designer and programmer to create a huge e-store, you don’t handle customer complaints, refunds or returns. All you do is refer the prospects to the merchant’s site and the merchant handles the rest.

What Exactly Is An Autoresponder And What Can It Do For You?

by John Reece

An autoresponder is a program that automatically sends emails to your customer base. You can write a given number of emails that can automatically be sent to your customers at regular intervals without any input from yourself. For example, if you wrote a seven part mini course and sent this to any new person that joined your mailing list, each part of the course could be sent at one-day intervals over seven days. This would all be done automatically without you lifting a finger.
Autoresponders do much more than this though:
They also help with automating and building your subscriber list. On your sales page you should place an opt-in form where people can subscribe by simply adding their first name and email address in return for a free quality ebook or short course. This process will all be done automatically by your autoresponder.
You will need to generate an opt-in form from your autoresponder company and position it on your sales page. As soon as someone joins, it will send them an email asking for confirmation of their email address. This process is called double opt-in and is used to cut down on spam because your potential customer has to reply confirming they want to join your list. Once this is done the autoresponder will send them their free ebook or the first part of your free course.
Another great feature of autoresponders is sending out Newsletters or other information to your whole list in one go. This feature is normally referred to as Broadcasts. You write an article and with one click it can be sent to everyone on your list with each email being personalised by the customers first name. The double opt-in process also works this way by automatically addressing customers by their first name, which is a great way of making your messages feel more personal.

What A Suitable Extranet Solution Is Made Of

by Shahab Kaviani

Today, a suitable company intranet for small or medium-sized business comes with this profile:
> Does not require big capital investment
> User-friendly
> Easily accessible from any PC connected to the internet
> Web-based applications; no need to install and manage servers;
> Compatible with any browser and platforms
> Top-notch security
> Provides tutorial support and a consistent back-up system
> Packed with complete collaboration and communication tools, such as: Email capability, Disk Storage, Documents and Contacts Management, Online and Group Calendar sharing, Task List, Announcements, Opinions and Forums Panel, etc.
> Available for customization
> Synchronicity with Outlook.
Does yours come close?
For a small or medium-sized business, its collaboration needs should not be costly. Unlike its larger counterparts, a growing business does not have enough resources to finance expensive IT infrastructures for collaboration or online communication. However, contrary to this apparent lack, most small of medium-sized businesses still pattern their needs after those of larger companies, falsely believing that high-end solutions, or those that were written by more popular geeks are often the best; thus they end up spending excessively for bells and whistles, which they could not use.

Web Banner Advertising Is Not Extinct

by Daryl Campbell

This argument has been raging for awhile. In the early days of cyberspace, internet banner advertising was a hot commodity, then it moved into the not so effective stage, followed by being labeled a relic of the past, and now it has been declared dead by people "in the know". Apparently some of the major news services and mega companies online did not get the memo because they still use banner ads; and quite profitably.
A web site banner is an advertisement in the form of image and text. Though you will see banner ads placed in a variety of different areas, they are commonly used at the top of a webpage. This technique maybe considered a holdover from when internet banner advertising was in its glory days but it really serves a more practical purpose. The top of the page is where you are most likely to attract the attention of your visitors.
So why the rush to place banner advertising alongside the fossil remains of the tyrannosaurus at your local museum? Part of it is that since the internet moves at warped speed, many people figure something old as web banner advertising cannot be effective or they just never had much success even when these types of ads were in vogue. Whatever the reason, a web site banner (like any form of advertisement) can do a nice job of promoting your products or services, when used effectively. Use one or a combination of these tips to get you started.
1. Land of the Free
This word does something to all of us. Mainly it gets us to explore further. Advertise a free giveaway on your web site banner related to your target market. Offer a free ebook or helpful video that gets people curious to find out more. When they click the ad banner, you can lead them to signup page, with an opt in email form. If your initial free offer is enticing enough, then people will not mind giving you their contact information
