Forums are a great tool for any marketer online. They can teach you, provide you with traffic, help you network with others; it truly is a win/win. Forum traffic is good, one because it’s free, and two because it’s targeted. Now, the main thing you want to stay away from is spamming forums. You’ll get kicked out faster then you can post a new topic.
One good idea for product owners; is to instead of just promoting your product straight up… Promote your affiliate program instead. That way even if someone isn’t interested in buying from you, they may still want to promote your product which may lead to future sales. It’s good to become a recognized person in forums so that people come to know and trust you.
